Three pieces, three different size systems. Why?
Because your shirt size and your waist genuinely are not the same conversation, and a shoe is a third one again. Forcing all three into a single S/M/L would guarantee that two of the three pieces fit badly. Each piece is picked separately, and the size guide on every product page walks you through it in three short steps.
The shirt is sized by weight. Is that a mistake?
No. That maker cuts to body weight rather than to a chest measurement. It is unusual and it works in your favour, because you know your weight without getting up and measuring anything.
What if I am between two sizes?
On the shirt and the trousers, size up. A garment that is slightly large can be taken in by any tailor for the price of a coffee. One that is slightly small cannot be let out at all. Shoes are the one place not to guess in either direction: stand with your heel against a wall, measure your foot, and match the centimetre column in the size guide.
Do all the Codes use the same shoe sizes?
No, and it matters. Five of the six Codes come with the Chelsea boot, which runs EU 40 to 46. The Modern Code comes with a sneaker from a different maker, which runs EU 39 to 48 on its own grade. Both tables are on the size guide, side by side, and the foot length in centimetres is the column that lets you compare them honestly.
What if a piece still does not fit?
We fix it and you keep the piece. Either we send the correct size, or we refund a portion so you can have it altered locally — your choice. You do not ship anything back. Full detail in the return policy.
Shipping
How long does it take?
10 to 20 business days. We print that on the product page rather than hiding it here, because finding out after paying is how stores lose people.
Where does it ship from?
From the workshops that make the pieces, most of them in Asia. We do not hold stock in North America. That is the trade that makes the price possible, and you should know it before you buy.
Why did my order arrive in two parcels?
Because the pieces come from different workshops. It is normal. If one piece has landed and another has not, give it a few more days. If the full kit is not with you by day 25, write to us.
Will I pay customs?
Usually not. If a Canadian carrier does assess an import fee, send us the receipt and we will cover it on your first order.
The products
Is there a logo on any of it?
No. Deliberately. A visible logo is a garment doing marketing instead of doing its job, and it is also the fastest way to find out that the maker changed. We reject pieces over it, including a sneaker we had already photographed.
Can I buy just the shirt?
Not today. The Codes are sold complete because the point of the thing is the combination — a shirt on its own is a garment, and there are already plenty of places to buy one of those. Accessories are sold separately.
Can I mix pieces from two different Codes?
Not in one order, but nothing stops you doing it in your wardrobe, and the method page explains which combinations hold up and why.
How do I wash it?
Cold wash, hang dry, warm iron on the shirt. The leather takes an ordinary shoe cream. Nothing in a Code needs dry cleaning, which is on purpose.
Orders and payment
Can I change or cancel?
Before it ships, yes, for any reason. Write to us as soon as you know. Once it is in transit we cannot recall it, but the fit and fault options still apply on arrival.
What currency?
Canadian dollars, shipping included. The price at checkout is the price you pay.
Something is wrong and none of this covers it.
